Perhaps a small amount of AA could be useful to emulate finer line thickness controls, as otherwise its quite coarse and limited to pixel steps.
The current line-specific AA implementation doesn't really work for this purpose.
Visual thickness do change with fractional line width increases, but just enabling this AA reduces visual thickness / contrast of the line noticeably (even when AA is set to 0.5 pixels, and this setting makes all [0-1] width lines look the same, so its start working from >1 widths only).
I'm pretty sure its possible to change the algo to take "virtual" width into account properly, but it requires better understanding of shaders.
