This is a good app for little ones. I like that it is hard for them to ever get in a frustrating spot if they press the wrong places.
I am confused, however, about how I am supposed to get more images from the online gallery.
I gave the app permission to access my photos and the network (although it seemed suspicious to me at first because it didn't explain why a coloring book would need such access).
From the app I pressed the overflow menu and then "Get more Images". That opened my default web browser (Fennec, based on Firefox Android) to https://gallery.quelltext.eu/. The instructions on that page say,
"If you have the Coloring Book App installed, you can see an Android logo next to the search field in the Browser. Open the app from there. "
I click on the images and no Android logo appears.
I have seen some websites do that in the past, where it offers to open a page in an app, but it doesn't work here.
I tried opening the PNG file in a different browser (Vanadium, based on Chromium) and it still didn't show the Open in App Android logo.
When that didn't work, I tried checking the box in the app settings to add online galleries (both https and http), but clicking on "New" still only shows me the built in 24 images.
Is there an alternate way? Can I download the images to a certain directory on my phone? I'd prefer that anyhow as I don't like giving apps any more permission than absolutely necessary.
By the way, I'm using a Google Pixel 6 Pro running GrapheneOS, which is based on the open source version of Android 13.
Thank you.
