The RYLR-998 is a relatively inexpensive LoRa radio module (for the US Part 13 band) that uses a synchronous UART communication protocol with the host device across two pins: one for input, one for output. This may require writing some code for UART and then separately code for the AT Commands for the device, but hopefully there will be a fairly simple way to handle serial data transmission across the pins.
