According to your changelog v8 is supposed to be the version where you break free of the node16 chains.
However, it would seem that v7.3 is already including this breaking change:
v7.2.0...v7.3.0#diff-7ae45ad102eab3b6d7e7896acd08c427a9b25b346470d7bc6507b6481575d519R92
Would it be possible for you to publish a v7.3.1 reverting this particular line of code in package.json?
We're currently stuck on node16 for some pipelines, and would like to be able to use at least the newest 7.x version, until we can upgrade nodejs.
