I've just seen that alr install puts shared libraries in ~/.alire/bin/, so I guess I should add that directory to LD_LIBRARY_PATH. Looking for the suggested best practice, I found a reference in this proposal:

           For Linux, we could instruct users to set `LD_LIBRARY_PATH`, or perhaps add an 
        
           `alr install --printenv` that can be added to `.bashrc`.

alr install --printenv doesn't seem to be implemented. Also looked for something in alr printenv, like alr printenv --running, but nothing. I guess it would make sense to implement this command.
