A non-recursive solver would not have stack limitations (not been a problem though) but, more importantly, would better prioritize the finding of complete solutions, removing many complexities in the current recursive exploration and search options.
Basically, with what we know now of what we need from the solver, it should result in simpler code with the better capabilities and simpler maintenance.
