Kernel: Hardware support for ThinkPad X230
I'm adding this to track the changes (hacks) I've had to make to get this laptop to work.
Issues:
- Support for the native display resolution (1366x768x32): This resolution has an unusual pitch (5504) and the output is distorted. Manually setting 1024x786 in
boot.Sworks though. (Note to self: Addinsmod vbein grub.cfg). - Boot hangs for about 90 seconds (black screen) but eventually does continue to boot.
- PS/2 keyboard only works when manually navigating to the BIOS settings menu before starting the OS.
- SATA disk controller requires AHCI to be disabled.
- When adding the network controller's PCI ID (
0x1502) inE1000ENetworkAdapter.cppthe system hangs while trying to read the adapter's EEPROM.
