The screenshot is a bit hard to read. The first command shows that ls was unable to list the contents of the directory. The second command successfully listed the contents of a sub-directory even though the path was even longer.
Reproduce:
- To create the long path, use the
/usr/Tests/LibC/overlong-realpthutility. Patch it so that it doesn't remove the directory once completed (or just runUserspaceEmulator /usr/Tests/LibC/overlong-realpth, which will fail to remove the directory due to missingrmdirsyscall). - Then create a few nested sub-directories with short names (
/asdf/asdf/asdf/asdf) inside the long path. - Now try
ls <path> - Bonus: try
ls -la <path>for different inconsistent results
