This thread is for issues related to running Serenity under VMware (similar to #2927 for tracking issues with VirtualBox).
Now that Serenity can run on VMware, there's several issues that have cropped up while using it:
- No networking - Network adapter is not detected.
- No sound - Sound blaster SB16 is not detected.
- Powering off the system (
shutdown -n) causes the system to freeze. Comparatively, restarting the system (reboot) works fine. - Booting into text mode presents a black screen with no shell prompt. Commands can still be entered and executed (ie,
reboot<enter>will reboot the system). - Changes to screen resolution do not take effect.
