Trying to build a working Serenity disk image on Chrome OS (more precisely inside a Crostini container) is quite difficult because the root user is not as almighty as usual:
- Crostini doesn't allow non-FUSE mounts, so I had to mount the disk image with
fuse2fs - Crostini blocks
mknod, so I had to run a Tiny Core Linux VM and run parts ofbuild-root-filesystem.shto create the device nodes
It would be nice if an unprivileged user could entirely cross-build Serenity (including image generation), assuming dependencies are already installed. NetBSD's build.sh is an example of this ability.
