Pixel Trail — Cursor Image Reveal for Framer

Hover to see. Pixel trail. Look closer.

Most images on the web are just… there. Pixel Trail makes visitors earn the picture: your photo hides behind a bold color and appears in chunky pixel blocks wherever the cursor moves — then slowly melts away, like breath fading from glass. On page load, a built-in intro trail sweeps across the poster, so everyone instantly knows it's alive.

Why designers pick it

• No code, ever. Drop it on the canvas — everything lives in the properties panel.
• Make it yours. Image, background color, two block colors, pixel grid density (8–48), brush radius, fade speed, zoom, plus a one-click B&W filter with tuned contrast.
• Never a blank square. A designed static trail renders on the Framer canvas, in thumbnails and screenshots.
• Editorial out of the box. Tuned for bold poster layouts: B&W portrait, punchy accent background, scattered white and ink blocks along the trail.
• Overlay mode. Switch the background off and lay the effect over any of your own designs — typography stays underneath until pixels cover it.
• Light and fast. One canvas element. No libraries, no video files, touch-friendly.
