Chancery is a complete Framer website for a UK law firm, built around a fee estimator that turns an advertised legal fee into the number that actually leaves the client's account.
The difference is that the statutory scales are real. A 350,000 purchase quoted at 950 costs 9,161 to complete once searches, Land Registry registration, the priority search, official copies and Stamp Duty Land Tax are added: a multiple of 9.6. Strip the tax out and the legal cost is still 1,661, so even a buyer who has budgeted for SDLT is 711 short. The estimator also prices probate and County Court money claims, and it separates the lines that carry VAT from the ones that do not, which is the distinction a quote that just adds VAT at the bottom gets wrong.
The rate tables are the product and they are cited on the site: HM Land Registry Scale 1 under the Land Registration Fee Order 2024, the SDLT bands in force from 1 April 2025 including first-time buyer relief and the additional dwelling rate, the Probate Registry application and copy fees, and the County Court issue and small claims hearing scales. The setup guide says where in the component to update each one when they change.
Eleven pages including a CMS detail template and a custom 404. Insights and People are CMS collections, so the articles and the rate card are content rather than layout. Set throughout in Schibsted Grotesk with tabular figures on the money columns. Nine colour tokens, every one carrying a dark value, so the site follows the visitor's system theme and a rebrand is a colour change rather than a rebuild.
The firm, its people, its regulatory details and its own fees are invented, and the site says so in its footer. Only the statutory scales are real.
