Interaction Patterns are a practical approach for designing effective interactions within and between Flight Levels. They provide structured methods for collaboration, communication, and coordination across different levels of an organization.
The approach consists of 11 patterns that build on each other: from the smallest building blocks of collaboration (Interactions) through meeting design and cadence to the systematic alignment of boards and meetings.
11 pattern cards plus cover, each with core question, compact explanation, concrete scenario, and practical application.
The 11 patterns: 1. Interactions – Smallest building blocks of collaboration, combinable like building bricks into different structures 2. Meeting Container – Bundles related Interactions into meetings with a clear, shared outcome 3. Meeting Cadence – Deliberate rhythm of interactions across Flight Levels 4. Interactions Network – How meetings connect (inputs, outputs, feedback loops) 5. Meeting Canvas – Makes the purpose and design of a meeting explicit 6. Categories – Thinking lenses to check interaction-design coherence 7. Board → Interactions – Start from the board; find coordination points 8. Interactions → Board – Every interaction produces a visible board change 9. Meeting → Interactions – Decompose existing meetings into their actual interactions 10. Board ↔ Meeting Alignment – Board and meetings co-evolve as one system 11. Interaction Triggers – Cadence (time-based) vs. Event Triggers (state-based)
